Ropework and big boots



Today i was out with Calum and Glenda. we'd hoped to go and look at mountaineering ropework on Tower Ridge but the forecast didn't make us think it would be the best learning environment today so we went with Plan B. Glenda was introduced to seconding and Calum's good climbing knowledge was refreshed and 'converted' for mountaineering. We were in Glen Nevis and climbed Styx Buttress Right Wall, The Gutter and the first pitch of 3 Pines (all quite sporting in big boots and on damp mica schist). We also put in 3 abseils and a wee journey using some mountaineering ropework. Plan B worked gain. Off to Glenmore Lodge tonight.

    Cheers Al, great day that met all our objectives despite the weather. Already looking forward to our winter day... Maybe even get up Tower Ridge this time.

    Whenever I take a look at your site in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet
    Explorer, it has some overlapping issues.
