Today I was assessing second year students from UHI's School of Adventure Studies on one of their modules involving hillwalking skills. For a refreshing change it was dry all day although with gale force winds higher up we spent the day on Meall an t-Suidhe directly above Fort William. After starting at the Youth Hostel we used one of the South West Ribs to look at personal movement on steep ground before using the open hillside and moorland towards Torlundy to examine their navigation ability.
