Long Summer

lots to post since i last logged on. These pics are of Jetty Crag in the NW of Scotland. Along with many other crags the locals have been developing (including some great new sport crags) you can buy Topos from Wildwest Topos on line. We only had the SMC selected Scottish Rock buit it didnt stop us trying a few of the likely looking lines at about VS.

This was just before our July trip to South Africa. We were going principally to Ice Climb at Giants Castle in the Drakensburg but got up to lots of other things too. After a stop off in Dubai we drove from Jo'burg down to Giants Castle National POark and walked in with members of the Mountain Council of South Africa organised by local Instructor Gavin Raubenheimer (see his website for details of local ice routes). The locals were very friendly but we were shattered by the 1500m climb with camp kit, food and ice gear up to the pass at around 3000m.
