Stunning Skye

Finally a break in the weather and Kevin and I went to Blaven. We opted to climb the peak by traversing Clach Glas - a stunningly exposed route. We were treated with plenty of sunshine and none of yesterday's snow! This mountaineering route gives a long day with continuous exposure and high quality scrambling- the pitch up onto the summit of Clach Glas is particularily exposed! The rock felt completely different today (it was dry and we didn't have to clear a couple of inches of snow off of it) allowing us to move quickly and top out on Blaven with many other people and sit back to enjoy great views of the main Cuillin Ridge (still whiteish on the N end of the ridge, much less snowy looking south of Bruach na Frithe). I think we felt we had earnt this one after yesterday!
