Day 2 of the intro to winter climbing with Frank and Craig and we are still dealing with that rarest of problems in Scotland - too much snow! We went to the Twin Ribs on the side of the Fiacaill Coire an t Sneachda. we were preceded by another 4 teams but but by taking our time we stayed behind the crowds on the crest of the right hand rib. The guys really enjoyed their first experience of mixed winter climbing - exploring fully what parts of their axes and bodies they can use to make upwards progress! The wind was blowing somewhat from the west at the end of the day and the tracks were filling in again and snow was being redeposited on some east facing slopes. We saw a couple of teams who from a distance looked to be doing the back stroke on The Slant on the Mess of Pottage. Today I was working for Glenmore Lodge.
