Getting them on the sharp end

Out today with long term client Jenny who is wants to work on her lead climbing and her pal Beth. This can be one of the best bits of my job when I see people moving towards independence as climbers. The weather was spectacular!
We were looking for something straightforwards and not to long so headed to Stob Coire Nan Lochan and with a sunny day in the offing opted for a ridge rather than a gully so it was Dorsal Arete (first time in a few years for me) and hero neve almost all the way!
Andy was ahead of us on the Dorsalgrat, other parties including Dave and Keith from PYB were on SC, Raeburns Ordinary, Ali and Helen did Spectre and NC was down climbed and Max and Jagged Globe made a massed ascent of Broad Gully. And did I mention that the weather was spectacular!
Jen did great leading and Beth romped her first winter climb (sorry, its not always that good), nice job ladies!
