2 days on Skye: Pt 2

For our second day on Skye Lisa fancied visiting the only part of the ridge she has never been on. We walked in to Coire a Mhadaidh via the Fairy Pools. With a reverse of yesterday's forecast (bright and sunny until late morning possible showers in the afternoon) we decided on an early start. We scrambled up Tuppeny Buttress to reach the Bealach na Glaic Moire. This slabby Grade 2/3 was great fun and a really quick way up. You follow lots of basalt staircases though so maybe one to avoid in the damp.
From here we turned north to take in the 3 tops of Bidein Druim nan Ramh; great mountaineering, great geological features.
We carried on over An Caisteal until a last abseil brought us down to the narrow top of the scree gully that runs down into Coire an Tairneilear. Dropping down into the Coire we returned to the car via the Fairy Pools again that had attracted dozens of visitors despite the showers now lowering off of the tops.
Another grand day out!
