Stunning day in the Cairngorms today. We walked in to see a fairly uniform snow cover (there was a little soft slab in places in Coire an t Sneachda but nothing to speak of that we saw) and little obvious snow transport. Teams were on the usual suspects on the Mess of Pottage, Fingers Ridge, The Runnel and there were teams climbing on Fiacaill Buttress. There was a bit of digging to do to clear off the fresh snow but the weather made up for it.
I followed Scott up the un-named rib to left of The Runnel to stay out of the dark gullies to give us a good route with a pitch of III at the base.
And did i mention... the weather was awesome.
