Chilly Gabbro
Rich and I went to Ardnamurchan today for some chilly rock climbing. We went up to the Apron Slabs for a change which had some big damp streaks. There were very strong winds blowing the odd shower past and despite full winter weight belay jackets and climbing in gloves it was baltic. After the sparsely protected Leac Glas (HS) and the more positive but damp Ne'er Day Corner (VS- great first pitch) we put the ropes away and went off on a follow my leader bouldering through the endless micro crags nearby. After a dozen problems we had warmed up enough and lost enough skin to call it a day. Stunning views out North and West to Rhum, Eigg etc. obscured temporarily by the showers whizzing by. Lots of stags bellowing and moaning and squaring up to one another- Autumnwatch eat your heart out! Sorry, no pics, forgot the camera!
