Mountaineering in the Cairngorms today

Day 2 with my first group of ACOL students and it was a little cloudier and little windier. We went to the Fiacaill of Coire an t Sneachda and took the most interesting line up the crest (powder and some boiler plate ice). The team then navigated us to the snowholes at Coire Domhain for lunch. From there it was on to 1141 passing a lot of friends topping out around the coire rim and then to the summit of Cairngorm (frozen blood on the mast…. looks like someone slaughtered a deer there!). Finally it was a leisurely stroll from 1141 back to the Cas car park. A grand day with the team taking responsibility for much of the journey. Cheers to Matt who has been working the past 2 days with me.
